Our Norwegian clients needed to connect two traditional wooden houses in Oslo. Rather than make a solid connection our London-based architect designed a glazed conservatory link offering the owners the possibility of living under glass all year round.

During the design phase the local Norwegian engineer specified that the glazed roof structure should withstand a snow load of 240 kg snow/m2, which is exceptionally high. This was beautifully and elegantly resolved by our supplier concealing a structural steel frame inside the handmade hardwood profiles – an exceptional example of fine creative joinery.
